Ten club members, along with partners and friends, again travelled north to Brisbane for the annual Mopar Sunday event held at Willowbank Raceway near Ipswich on Sunday July 27th.

On arrival in Brisbane on Friday 25th, we drove south to the Gold Coast to once again visit engine builder Kevin Kent's workshop, where final preparations were being made to his 1970 AAR Plymouth 'Cuda, which was to compete on Sunday. Also during the afternoon we again visited Geezer's Classic Garage, to check out the many classic cars offered for sale. Always a good place to visit.

Saturday morning was spent visiting several model car and auto memorabilia/collectables shops before heading to Noosa to visit Mopar Sunday event organiser Jim Tatton, who showed us over the latest cars being restored, before loading his magnificent collection of classic Mopar muscle cars onto a truck bound for Willowbank.

After leaving Noosa we had the privilege of visiting David Bowden's magnificent collection of historic race cars, which included Allan Moffat's '69 Trans Am Mustang, Norm Beechey's '70 Monaro, and Pete Geoghegan's Super Falcon. We cannot express enough thanks to Dan Bowden, who spent almost three hours taking us through the display explaining all the stories and history behind each car.
A special thankyou also goes to club member Ian Craven for arranging the visit. Photo gallery.

Many thanks also to Kevin and Jim for their time and hospitality over the weekend, and especially to Sam and Tom for looking after us at the track on Sunday. Click here for Sunday photos. Return to event pictures listing.
