Our 25th Anniversary Run, held from Friday November 30th and Sunday December 2nd, took us to Moama NSW, at the Winbi River Resort on the Murray River.

Members departing the Shell Service Station on the corner of Hume Hwy and Donnybrook Rd at around 11.00am Friday morning, were Steve in his '68 Dodge Charger with Phil along as passenger, Gary and Meg in their '69 Mercury Cougar, Paul and Mark in Paul's '69 Plymouth Road Runner, Lindsay, Rob and Fran in Lindsay's '71 Chev Impala, Steve and Narelle in their BMW (while Steve awaits the restoration and completion of his '69 Chev Camaro), Mark and his '69 Mustang Cobra Jet, with surprise driver Glenn, who had jumped ship somewhere along the way from his family Holden Captiva, leaving Joanne trying to stay with the pack, Alistair and Joanne in the Chev pickup, and finally Sharon and Sharni in their '64 Mercury Comet.

Further up the road in Elmore, we stopped to meet Adrian and Barb in their '73 Dodge Challenger, and Ian and Tracey with their '70 Dodge Challenger, so it was a fine display of American Muscle which rolled into Echuca and Moama that afternoon. Others already at the resort, and who arrived later in the evening, were Jim and Rasma with her '70 Pontiac Grand Prix, Gary and Jenny with their '70 Pontiac Firebird, Andrew with his '73 Pontiac Firebird, Don and family in their '66 Ford Mustang, Bruce and Sam with their '68 Mercury Cougar XR7, Mark and Vicki in his '65 Ford Mustang Fastback, Russ with his '65 Plymouth Valiant Signet, Con with his '69 Pontiac Firebird, Geoff and Lin with their '69 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible, and finally Ian and Mandy with their '68 Chev Camaro.

An added feature to an already activity packed weekend, was courtesy of club members Wayne and Kerry, who sacrificed
bringing their '68 Camaro convertible along, instead towing their ski boat behind Wayne's GMC truck. This was to add a whole new dimension to our end of year run. Right at the river's edge of our accommodation we could just step into the boat and go cruising all the way into Echuca, and have a bit of fun (or should that be torture?) on the ski biscuit. Great fun while you're on it, but knocks the living daylights out of you when you come off it!

Saturday morning, gathered around the BBQ area for a fine feast of bacon and eggs, and much nursing of headaches from the night before. Some stayed up just a little too late! Then at 10.00am, assembled and cruised through Echuca's main street, much to the delight of many onlookers. Our destination was the Great Aussie Beer Barn on the outskirts of town, where we toured the museum and enjoyed a great talk by the owner, before being served a spit roast lunch, much to the delight of a million local flies! Then it was off to our chosen activity for the afternoon, go-karting, horse riding, or a leisurely river boat cruise. And if all that wasn't enough, it was then back to the resort for more boating and skiing.

The theme for Saturday night's presentation dinner was 70's and 80's dress. It was just hilarious as you will see in the photo
gallery. Many awards were presented for 25 year members, and it was great to see some of the original members from 1982 attending. Also present were several members we hadn't seen at an Anniversary run for many years, so thank you to those
members for attending once again. Members' choice for the weekend went to Mark R. for his 1969 Mustang 428 Cobra Jet.
Thanks also to Alistair and Joanne for preparing our trivia contest, and a special thank you to Sharon and Alistair for doing a lot of the ground work earlier by travelling to Moama several months ago to organize the accommodation and activities.

Back at the BBQ area later that night for a few nightcaps, and then up and at 'em again Sunday morning for another BBQ breakfast, before checking out and assembling the 18 cars for a photo shoot. Then it was off to many fuel outlets before cruising down the highway to Heathcote for our pre-booked lunch and then the cruise home. The 2007 Anniversary Run will take quite a lot to top. A fantastic weekend enjoyed by all, and we just can't stress enough to some of the newer members out there, to give it a go and book for our 2008 Run next December.
